Memories

Image
It’s hard to find the right words. It’s hard to find understanding. What makes it easier everyday is love preserving. As a group of friends we know the force of the tides in each others lives. When tragedy happened we had each other. This year has truthfully been a heap not giving fs because we have had to put our lives into perspective in a big way. My friends gave me love that demonstrates where we need to put those fs. Their strength for all that good people have suffered this year has taught me so much.  When She arrived on the day before we laid my mother to rest I had her to put on the second I walked through the door. It was the warmest I felt all day.  Clinging onto the memories, our times of togetherness, what we can learn from each other and what we can do for those we love is what is keeping me going toward the future.I miss my mother terribly but my friends and the sweater have truly brought me comfort and joy. I am so lucky. The picture included is taken at one o...

Travels & Insight

I was elated to see her again for round 2 when Jaclyn dropped her off. ❤ There was a different feel this time around. When we first started this little exchange during quarantine, I bought her new and hadn't experienced the feelings of connectedness, warmth and love now that my best friends had worn her too. She was a little older, a bit wiser, and so am I. ✌❤ She travelled with me to Wiarton, Ontario for a weekend getaway August 21st-23rd. Three hours north to visit friends in South Bruce Peninsula and to explore the beauty and tranquil state that high evergreen trees, clean, fresh air and simple living has to offer.  I wore her at night with mosquitoes gnawing on my ankles, and during a few moments of relaxation on my new found love of hammocks. She kept me warm in the cool, humid nights and reminded me of her prior travels in the hands of our 'brunette squad.'  A couple of insights I realised this time around:  - It really is the simple things is life that are fu...

What is love?

Image
As sweetly as she arrived, she left💗. I dropped the sweater off to Sophie and a sweet little visitor of hers too👭! I feel like in the hot heat of this summer (bless) I haven't needed Her warmth to comfort me, this time it was knowing that She was there as soon as I got home. I have learned a lot in my time with the sweater. Something I found most valuable was taking time to stop and smell the roses🌹🌹. I have taken time to meditate and pray, work towards having a strong and healthy body and mind and self-love🥰.  I expect times ahead will be unfamiliar to us all... I am so excited of the journey She will be going on next with Sophie🦋, I admire you so much and you are a wonderful friend and teacher to me. Julia🌍 wherever you are and whatever you do, you are doing it the absolute best. Amanda🌻 you are achieving so much and doing your dreams girl. I am so proud of us.  I am so thankful to have my friends stand by me when I needed their strength. I have so many strong role-m...

More than a Smile

Image
When she arrived, I thought my smile was going to jump off my face, back into the envelope, and travel right back to Ontario with the force of pure joy. Well, that's not quite what happened of course.  I need my mouth for more than just smiling... Eating, blowing bubbles, etc.  In reality what happened may seem insignificant to the average person, but to me it was a huge step this week. I had just put on my shoes to try and walk myself out of the funk that enveloped me at the beginning of the week, when I opened my front door and saw a package.  After reading the return address I thought, "Oh!  This must be the sweater." It's my first time with her and I swear, when I put her on, it felt like I was getting a great big hug from my three bros.  A big hug was what I really needed that day.  And every day this past week when I needed extra support, there she was.  Well, really, there they were.  Three friends supporting even just with their spir...

There she goes

Image
1 week ago I sent her to Julia... nervous of the journey but sure she will be expected with open arms. There she goes, and she'll go and go again.... Happy she will be making her first trip to Julia, completing her time in Ontario for now. Sophie, Amanda and I shared our first fire together without the sweater but still felt her warmth. The first times we had seen each other since the pandemic makes you feel so blessed to have friendship. I wanted to share a poem about friendship... "Such are feelings of friendship! They adhere themselves to our bones as though they are the tendons are souls need. To make it through thick and thin. To withstand the wrongful twists and turns of this world. And after a storm, they help us extend our hands beyond boundaries, to reach out for the colours of the rainbow. Such are the feelings of friendship." Born to Perdure..... Love and blessings ~Jac

A Hard Working Girl

Image
It's all about perspective.... The outcomes of this year since March when the world shut down may be exactly what we needed to heal.... Environmental impacts, caring for vulnerable people, the movement of systematic change. We are being called to care for each other and respond to the needs of others in ways we haven't before. I love my sisters in the sweater and I know that we are doing to do our best to teach well and have peace. Like Sophie I wanted to mention some of the things I have been doing since "social distancing". IN OUR SECOND WEEK WE:  Worked hard to plant ferns at Dave's home🌿 Wrote my first ever report card!🍎 Taught from home👩🏻‍🏫 Went for walks 🚶🏽‍♀️ Trips to cottage 🌲 Nights with Lola Bean 🐰 Parks and Rec erryday I have so enjoyed my time with her and I will miss her soon... these photos will remind me of Dave's home & make me think of summer love Peace, love & pizza sauce

Gone Fishin' 🎣

Something about these times during social distancing and a global pandemic has me thinking a lot about the future, questioning more than I should. Where am I going? What is happening? What is normal? Often times I am not eager to look forward to the future. Of course as a teacher naturally I plan like hell. In life, come what may.... When Amanda dropped her off to me I felt a sense of relief to have her with me. I knew the future was going to be bright because I saw myself wearing her for years and years to come. We must have done something right ladies.  ❤️ IN OUR FIRST WEEK WE spent time teaching from home to my grade 3s, cuddling on cool nights in May, ROAD TRIP with David to his family cottage! For me the photo attached will live on forever. I am so happy that I got to share my experience with her and with my friends.  Catch you later  🐟   🐟
